South African Recipes

My parents emigrated to South Africa when I was only 12 years old, and the South African way of cooking has influenced a lot of my cooking.  This is my collection of South African recipes for you to try.

Some of my favourites include the spicy peri peri chicken and beef trinchado which are very popular in the restaurants over there.

On the sweeter side, koeksisters make a delicious tea-time treat.  These are traditionally made with yeast, but my version uses 2-ingredient dough, and is so simple to make.  And of course, no South African recipe collection would be complete without a recipe for melt-in-the-mouth hertzoggies.

In my previous life, I was an IT Consultant. Now that I've swapped an office for a kitchen I have a lot more time to spend on things that interest me such as trying out new recipes. Most of my cooking is based around quick and easy meals, and you'll probably find a little South African influence creeping in due to the many years I spent there.
